We are here to support parents & carers with wrap around care for children who attend Portway Infants & Juniors. We provide a breakfast club & after school club which has a positive, fun, safe setting with staff who care and support all children!

Our breakfast club is held at Portway Infant School in the year two block..

Breakfast Club Routine

Morning pick up

From 7:25AM a member of staff will be at the bottom of the drive leaving at 7:30AM. This is our only ‘pick up’ service we offer in the morning enabling you as a parent/ carer to drop off your child without having to walk up the drive.

The breakfast tables

Breakfast runs from 7:35AM- 8:15AM, when children enter the setting they are asked if the would like to place their food and drink order. Their food is brought to the table for them to eat during free play.

Free play

During 7:35AM -8:20AM children are free to play with the morning recourses with their friends.

Foundation- Y4 This includes a home corner, construction area, small world area, book corner, colouring area and games/ puzzles.

Y5- Y6 This includes colouring area, games/ puzzles and iPads.

Tidy up time

At 8:20 we have a quick tidy of the room and get all of our belongings together for our physical time before going to school.

Physical time

At 8:30AM children with either be outside or in the hall for some physical time, this is often playground games or football.

Walk to school

In year groups the children walk down with an allocated member of staff to school.

Where to find us…

Our after school club takes place at Portway Infant School in the hall and year two block. Please follow the staff car park walking past the shed and through the gate to the hall door. From 3:45PM the staff car park gates will open towards the left of the school, as a parent/ carer you will have access to the car park during 3:45PM- 6:00PM.

When the school has events everyone will be in the year two block, you will be informed of any changes.

School drop off/ pick up

At 3:30PM children in the infant children are brought to the year two block be their class teacher, juniors are picked up by a member of staff in the band stand near the office.

Free play

During 3:30PM- 6PM children are free to play with the evenings recourses with their friends. These recourses change during the week. Every night children have access to the playground/ grass unless it is not safe to do so due to the weather.

Snack time

Snack runs from 3:35PM- 4:45PM, when children enter the setting they are called to the kitchen area where they pick what they would like for snack before heading to the snack tables to eat.
