We are here to support parents & carers with wrap around care for children who attend Portway Infants & Juniors. We provide a breakfast club & after school club which has a positive, fun, safe setting with staff who care and support all children!
Breakfast Club
Where to find us…
Our breakfast club is held at Portway Infant School at Busy Bees Pre-School. At breakfast Club All infant and juniors are located at Busy Bees Pre-School.
Cars are not aloud in the staff car park, you must park your car on the road however please note the no parking zone just outside of the school.
When you arrive please ring the bell on the gate, a member of staff will open it for you. Follow the ramp to Busy Bees Pre-School and ring the bell for a member of staff to greet you.
Breakfast Club Routine
Morning pick up
From 7:25AM a member of staff will be at the infant school gates on Woodlands Road leaving at 7:30AM. This is our only ‘pick up’ service we offer in the morning enabling you as a parent/ carer to drop off at the door.
The breakfast tables
Breakfast runs from 7:30AM- 8:15AM, when children enter the setting they are asked if the would like to place their food and drink order. This is a range of cereal, toast and fruit with milk or water. Their food is brought to the table to eat before going to play.
Free play
During 7:35AM -8:20AM children free play with the morning recourses with their friends.
Foundation- Y4 This includes a home corner, construction area, small world area, book corner, colouring area and games/ puzzles.
Y5- Y6 This includes colouring area, games/ puzzles and iPads.
Weather dependent children will be invited to play outside.
Tidy up time
At 8:20 we have a quick tidy of the room and get all of our belongings together before getting into their year group ready for school.
Walk to school
In year groups the children walk to their classroom with an allocated member of staff to school.
Where to find us…
Our after school club takes place at Portway Infant School in the hall and Busy Bees Pre-School. All infant children will be at Busy Bees Pre-School, all juniors will be in the main hall.

For Junior children walk around the school to the hall entrance *do not enter the school through the reception area.
When the school has events all children will go to Busy Bees Pre-School, you will be informed of any changes.
After School Club
After School Club Routine
School drop off/ pick up
At 3:30PM infant children are brought to the infant hall by their class teacher then collected by our staff, juniors are picked up by a member of staff in the junior hall.
Free play
During 3:30PM- 6PM children are free to play with the evenings recourses with their friends. These recourses change during the week. Every night children have access to the playground/ grass unless it is not safe to do so due to because of weather or after school activities.
Snack time
Snack runs from 3:35PM- 4:45PM, when children enter the setting they are called to the kitchen area where they pick what they would like for snack before heading to the snack tables to eat.
Children who are attending a club will still be offered snack when arriving at after school club.
